This walk tells the fascinating story of Shanghai’s impressive skyline and the rise of one of the world’s most dynamic financial centres!
In the early 1990s, under the leadership of Deng Xiaoping, China’s grand vision began: Pudong was to become the new financial and commercial district. The strategically planned district of Lujiazui, now synonymous with modern Shanghai, became the centrepiece of this ambitious project. Skyscrapers, innovative architecture, and state-of-the-art infrastructure characterise the cityscape and reflect China’s economic boom.
At the end of the 1980s, Deng Xiaoping said that the skyline of Pudong should look completely different each year in the future. This goal was consistently implemented, transforming the area from sparsely populated farmland into a symbolic economic centre.
Payment for the walk is made on-site via Alipay, WeChat, or in cash.
