Charity Special – Rotary Shanghai City Mystery Challenge (engl.)

The Rotary Shanghai City Mystery Challenge is an interactive, outdoor charity competition designed for teams of up to 5 participants. Participants will explore the hidden histories and fascinating mysteries of the Former French Concession by following clues, solving puzzles, and completing challenges.

It is a race against time that blends cultural discovery, strategy, and teamwork, all in support of educational scholarships for children from underprivileged migrant families in Shanghai.

Our Mission: Discover the City, Unlock a Child’s Future

The entry fee is 2.000 RMB per team (regardless of team size, with a maximum of 5 people). 100% of your team’s fee goes directly to Shanghai YouDao Service Center (www.youdaochina.cn). Together, all participating teams will raise enough to send multiple children to school. Every clue you solve brings a child one step closer to a brighter future.

YouDao has been registered with the Shanghai Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau since 2017. It is a 100% volunteer-run organisation with zero operating costs – every RMB donated goes directly to its scholarship and support programs. YouDao’s mission is to support migrant worker families in Shanghai and Hebei, and families in remote villages in Yunnan, ensuring their children can enjoy a normal pre-school-to-middle-school education (3-15 years old), grow up healthy, and help their families better integrate into society. In Shanghai, it costs 6,000 RMB to sponsor a child for a full year of education.
